They are just wonderful! We have had 2 very old dogs that we had to put to sleep and they definitely make it just a little easier.
I thought I found a great clinic but after my recent visit I am extremely disappointed. I brought a feral cat to neuter to be released later. The cat was given dewormer and flea treatment without my permission. When I told Dr. Strock that the cat is feral and will go back and get worms and fleas again, he said that cats over 1 year old get immune to fleas and worms! That was the stupidest thing I ever heard from the vet!! Later I called the office manager who told me giving flea meds/dewormer was their policy. Well, I think pet owners must be informed of any policies, no? A simple cat neutering bill was about $200. I felt ripped off.
I had to leave my puppy over the weekend. I got calls updating me about how he was doing, and they did their best to keep costs down while he was there. The veterinarian was very helpful. Highly recommend
We will continue to patronize them going forward, and highly recommend that you consider them for your pet's care.
The entire staff was supportive, kind and compassionate. We cannot say enough good things about them all. it is obvious that that Dr.'s Barry and Kim Strock care about their patients and their caretakers.
Peter & I moved back to NA 2 year ago with a 8 yr old standard poodle who was the love of our lives. She quickly won the hearts of my mother, sister, & B-I-L who live on either side of us. Molly required routine care until she tore her knee requiring surgery. A specialist was called in & she recuperated beautifully. This year she developed bladder cancer complicated by irritable bowel disease. The staff & Dr. Barry treated her so kindly. Today Molly was put to sleep and that was done with mercy and love. Thank you all for taking care of us as well as our beloved Molly.
I've decided to never return there after my dog's recent near death experience. I was told by Dr. Barry that my dog was pregnant. No tests, just palpated her abdomen. I had no reason to doubt the dx because of course he's been doing this for years. After several weeks of no pups (despite her "being due" in 2 weeks) I wake up to her bleeding. I mean lots and lots of bleeding. Believing she is in labor, I try and try to get her to whelping box but she would not leave my side. Everything that I read stated she would want to be alone when it was time to deliver and that was not the case. I called and let the office know that there was a lot of bleeding for hours with no puppies and she would not leave my side. I asked if they could please just check her. Dr. Barry said it not uncommon for dogs to go 24 hours with labor starting and stopping so for me to call if there were no puppies by the next morning. So my dog bleed all day and nigh. The next morning I called and instead of asking, I told them that I was bringing her in. The vet that saw her checked her birth canal and said no puppies. He did x-rays and lab work. Turns out she was never pregnant but had a raging uterine infection. She had to have surgery that I was advised was life or death. I was told the vet would speak to me after the surgery to let me know how things went. I called 3 times that day and never spoke to the vet. I was then told the vet would speak to me when I picked her up. When I went to pick her up, the vet was gone. When I questioned this I was told that it had been a busy day. At that point I was just about done with all of them but I was at least going to take my dog back for the post-surgical follow up. Fast forward to that day. When the removed the stiches I asked them to check her ears because I feared they were infected. They took her in the back and brought her back. The vet said yes they were infected and he had placed medication in both of them. The medication was never discussed with me but it was done. The medication ended up causing my dog to lose her hearing. The nonchalant response was that "that's only happened 3 times in 30 years:" I should have been told about that BEFORE the medicine was put in her ears. So I scooped up my deaf dog and went to check out. Despite EVERYTHING they did to her, I was still paying full price for the poor care. And the front desk staff, who is usually joking around and friendly, changed their tune and seemed to shun us as soon as I mentioned the medicine had made her deaf. It was a horrible and very costly experience. I would never, ever recommend this place to anyone. And I read all the reviews about how nice everyone is but Iet something go wrong and see how nice they are. I never got an apology from Dr. Barry and nothing from the office manager. Fortunately my dog is still is still alive but she is not who she used to be and I hate that I ever trusted them to care for her.
